\n2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
\nYou understand my thought from afar.
\n3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
\nAnd are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
\n4 Even before there is a word on my tongue,
\nBehold, O Lord, You know it all.
\n5 You have enclosed me behind and before,
\nAnd laid Your hand upon me.
\n6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
\nIt is too high, I cannot attain to it.
\n7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
\nOr where can I flee from Your presence?
\n8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
\nIf I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
\n9 If I take the wings of the dawn,
\nIf I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
\n10 Even there Your hand will lead me,
\nAnd Your right hand will lay hold of me.
\n11 If I say, \u201cSurely the darkness will overwhelm me,
\nAnd the light around me will be night,\u201d
\n12 Even the darkness is not dark to You,
\nAnd the night is as bright as the day.
\nDarkness and light are alike to You.
\n13 For You formed my inward parts;
\nYou wove me in my mother\u2019s womb.
\n14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
\nWonderful are Your works,
\nAnd my soul knows it very well.
\n15 My frame was not hidden from You,
\nWhen I was made in secret,
\nAnd skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
\n16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
\nAnd in Your book were all written
\nThe days that were ordained for me,
\nWhen as yet there was not one of them.
\n17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
\nHow vast is the sum of them!
\n18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.
\nWhen I awake, I am still with You.
\n19 O that You would slay the wicked<\/strong>, O God;
\nDepart from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.
\n20 For they speak against You wickedly,
\nAnd Your enemies take Your name in vain<\/strong>.
\n21 Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord?
\nAnd do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
\n22 I hate them with the utmost hatred;
\nThey have become my enemies.
\n23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
\nTry me and know my anxious thoughts;
\n24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
\nAnd lead me in the everlasting way.<\/p>\n
